Today I removed the castle and also emptied the sand from the sand tray. Instead I had just water in both compartments (You can colour it by adding a small piece of crepe paper in the colour of your choice)My 22 month old grand daughter spend ages playing filling and emptying using a small plastic tea set and a small plastic watering can (and playing with the sqirty dragon) I'm upping my rating to 5 stars because of the versatilty of this product.

This isn't a sand and water table designed for emptying and filling activities, but more of a tool for stimulating the child's imagination. My grand daughter is a little young for it at 22 months so I've resorted to a sepearate sand pit and water trough which suits her stage of development better. (She's at the digging and chopping damp sand and sprinkling watering cans into containers stage) But this table is an excellent spark for imaginative play, sturdily built, and big enough for 2-3 children to use it at once. The castle isn't so sturdy and falls to pieces unless you you pick it up very carefully. (But it slots back together again) very good value for money
